Very nice experience — both the food and service was good! The restaurant has a dark, warm atmosphere and is perfect for a little get together. Would highly recommend getting multiple plates to share. The brussels sprouts were the highlight of the night. I only wish that it had come with more hummus as the base. The cauliflower with the dips (tahini and a hot sauce) was also great and the lamb kofta was nice and soft. The halloumi skewers tasted good but I’m confused on how it was $20 for only two skewers, each containing only a couple of pieces of cheese. Had the knafeh and mahalabia for dessert and both were thoroughly enjoyed — neither were too sweet which was great and the nuts on top really elevated each of the dishes.

We were a big group celebrating one of our friend’s birthday. We all had a great time. The server was very attentive. Food was delicious, specially Najibs special, the sablefish dish was great, but the fish itself wasn’t as tasty as we were hoping.

We stumbled upon this place by chance and decided to give it a try. The decor and atmosphere were great, definitely a pleasant and inviting space . We ordered the Grilled Sampler Platter for two ($60), but unfortunately, it didn’t quite meet our expectations. The grilled chicken had a strong burnt, bitter taste that overpowered everything else. On the positive side, the lamb, shrimp, and broccoli were well-cooked and enjoyable. However, considering the portion size and the price, we felt it didn’t offer good value overall

Our experience was so amazing!! We came for our birthday lunch and the food was delicious. We go the lunch plates Lamb Kafta, Lamb Shawarma, Chicken Shish Tawook, Najib Special. Our server gave us the crème brûlée & the tiramisu for our birthday! They were also training a set of new servers all of whom were doing a good job. Very happy with our decision to come to Nuba for our bday lunch!

We wanted some authentic Lebanese food and Nuba was perfect. The service was warm and friendly. They had a good selection of beer on tap and wines by the glass. The hummus was very flavorful and the bread delicious. Love the halloumi skewers, and the lamb kofta was amazing. I also really liked the cocinaron of fig, feta and pear salad - perfect for the summer. Highly recommend it.

Had a great experience! My mum is celiac and we were really impressed with the number of gluten-free options available for her. The food was excellent, and the service was just as good. This was my first time visiting the Gastown location, and I’d definitely come back. Such a cute vibe, too!

Was recommended this place for lunch. I am very familiar with middle eastern food - and this place is top notch. The flavors; the tenderness of the meats and every single thing I tasted was incredible. The portions were generous too! Angelina is a sweetheart. 10/10 recommend! Prices are high but I think it’s value for the money.

If you're in Vancouver and searching for a delightful dining experience, look no further than Nuba in Gastown. Nestled at 207 W Hastings St, this restaurant promises a culinary journey steeped in authentic Lebanese flavors. With a warm and inviting atmosphere—perfect for intimate gatherings or celebratory occasions—Nuba encapsulates the essence of communal dining, where sharing plates and laughter go hand in hand.

The menu boasts an array of enticing dishes that highlight the richness of Middle Eastern cuisine. Diners have praised standout offerings like the succulent lamb kofta, which is soft and packed with flavor, and the crunchy, caramelized brussels sprouts—a fan favorite that truly shines on the plate. It's worth noting that many have suggested more hummus as a pairing, clearly indicating its popularity as a base for various dishes.

An essential part of the Nuba experience is their dips—tahini and a delightful hot sauce—perfect companions for the crispy cauliflower. Vegetarians will find several options to satisfy their cravings, ensuring everyone at the table can partake in the celebration of flavors.

For those with a penchant for grilled delights, the menu offers a Grilled Sampler Platter that features a variety of proteins, although opinions may vary on its execution. A diner noted some of the grilled chicken suffered from a burnt taste, overshadowing the other well-cooked items like lamb and shrimp. It's a reminder that consistency is key, yet the positives often outweigh the negatives in this eatery.

As dessert rolls around, don't miss out on the knafeh and the mahalabia. These sweet treats strike the right balance, neither too cloying nor overwhelming, and are beautifully garnished with nuts for added texture. For special occasions, it's heartwarming to know the staff goes the extra mile, sharing complimentary desserts to make celebrations even sweeter.

In the realm of service, guests have commended the staff for their warmth and attentiveness. The welcoming nature contributes to a comfortable dining experience, regardless of whether you’re a couple on a date or a group celebrating a birthday.

With a selection of fine wines and craft beers to complement your meal, Nuba in Gastown stands out as a must-visit destination for those seeking authentic Lebanese cuisine in a charming setting. It's more than just a meal; it's an experience to be savored. As one reviewer beautifully summed it up, this restaurant isn't just about food—it's about bringing people together in a delightful and flavorful way.
